Dawn for New York Logo
When Dawn Smalls decided to run for Public Advocate in New York City, she wanted a logo to reflect her campaign promise to be a spokesperson for all five of the city's diverse boroughs. I used the iconic New York skyline with the equally iconic Brooklyn Bridge superimposed. The bridge was used to symbolize that uniting of the city's boroughs. I used dark blue as the main color to signify her Democratic political leaning, but also to represent the night sky. The golden gradient was used as a play on her name and to symbolize the dawn of a new day for New York City.
